About Us

When François and I bought our Historic Home on Vansittart Avenue in June 2016, we knew we wanted to share the beauty with others. Three and a half years down the line we're still madly in love with this majestic place we are honoured to call home. The Joubert family has a rich history and our Guest House is named after the commune, La Motte-d'Aigues, in the south of France from which François' family hails.

Our unique Guest House offers more privacy than a Bed and Breakfast. It's the perfect setting for a romantic getaway, business trips, golf getaways, antique shopping, wedding accommodations, and more. Have a look at our Specials Deals & Promotions!

The building and garden also provide an ideal setting for a variety of photoshoots. We also rent our facilities for meetings, working retreats, and small and intimate celebrations.

Guests have access to our main floor, as well as the curved verandah at the front of the house facing historic Vansittart Avenue. Access to the main floor includes the guest powder room at the front door; the cozy octagonal library/sitting/music room; the breakfast/meeting/party room; solarium; and grand kitchen. For those who love to cook, our spacious kitchen offers a lovely experience. There is a separate guest fridge with complimentary still water, milk, and cream. Guests can store their food and drinks in this fridge. Complimentary fruit, as well as coffee and a variety of teas, are also available.
