2017 marks the 25th anniversary of Dr. Roberta Bondar’s space flight. In outer space, she was overwhelmed by life-filled Earth. In 2000, Dr. Bondar wrote: “Back on the ground I searched for a way to express what I had seen from space and how I felt about the planet. I wanted to show Earth through photography…and to reach as many viewers as possible, to encourage them to love and respect our special part of planet Earth.” As part of the WAG’s 50th Anniversary Celebrations the Gallery is honoured to mount an exhibition of Dr. Bondar’s exceptional photographs; Windows onto the Wild that opens Saturday February 18 and runs until June 30.
